Mia Schem
Freed Hostage
Mia Schem is an Israeli-French citizen who was kidnapped by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel. She was taken from the Nova Music Festival, which she attended with friends. Hamas later released a video of her in captivity, making her one of the first hostages to be publicly identified.
She was held in Gaza for over 50 days before being released on November 30, 2023, as part of a temporary ceasefire and hostage exchange deal. During her captivity, her mother, Keren Schem, became a vocal advocate for the release of all hostages.

In 2023, he launched Rova Media to counter pro-Hamas and anti-Israeli propaganda.

Ofir Amir
Tribe of Nova Foundation Co-Founder & Nova Survivor
Ofir Amir is a businessman and Israeli music festival producer who previously worked for 8 years in real estate in Germany. He is one of the key figures behind the Nova Music Festival, an event known for its vibrant celebration of music, art, and community. On October 7, 2023, when the festival became the target of a brutal terrorist attack by Hamas, Amir was shot in the legs while trying to escape. His first born daughter was born just a month later.
Despite the trauma, Ofir has dedicated himself to commemorating the victims and raising awareness about the attack. He played a major role in organizing the Nova Exhibition, a powerful art installation that tells the story of the festival and its tragic aftermath. Amir’s resilience and commitment to healing and remembrance have helped and inspired survivors and families affected by the tragedy, as well as supporters worldwide.

Congressman Ritchie Torres
Representative, New York's 15th District
Representative Ritchie Torres is a fighter from the Bronx who has spent his entire life working for the community he calls home. Like many people in the Bronx, poverty and struggle have never been abstractions to him, and he governs from a place of lived experience. Ritchie’s mother single-handedly raised him, his twin brother, and his sister in a public-housing project.
In 2013, at the age of twenty-five, Ritchie became New York City’s youngest elected official and the first openly L.G.B.T.Q. person elected to office in the Bronx. At the City Council, Ritchie stood out, and during his seven-year tenure he tenaciously tackled problems big and small for the Bronx and New York City. He passed over forty pieces of legislation, including legislation protecting the city’s affordable housing stock and tackling the city’s opioid epidemic. As the Chairman overseeing NYCHA, he held the first committee hearing ever in public housing, which led to a $3 billion-dollar FEMA investment, the largest in NYC history. As Chair of the Oversight & Investigations Committee, Ritchie has led investigations into the heating outages and lead poisoning at NYCHA, the Taxi Medallion scandal, the city’s controversial Third-Party Transfer program, and Kushner Companies.
Ritchie currently lives in the Bronx and represents NY-15 in the Bronx. He is a member of the Committee on Financial Services and the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party.

Braun is also a dedicated philanthropist, serving personally on the board of numerous charitable organizations and remains committed to his companies’ founding philosophies of giving back.

DJ Sasi
Tribe of Nova Foundation Co-Founder & Nova Survivor
Omri Sasi is a musician, creator, and one of the rising forces in the Israeli and global techno and trance progressive scene. With a background in real estate and entrepreneurship, Israeli DJ and producer Sasi is renowned for his involvement in organizing the Nova Music Festival. On October 7, 2023, the festival became the site of a devastating terrorist attack by Hamas, resulting in the deaths of at least 260 attendees, including four of Sasi’s relatives.
In the aftermath of this profound personal and national tragedy, Sasi has been instrumental in supporting survivors and honoring the memory of those lost. He co-organized a memorial ceremony at Kibbutz Sdot Yam, and has dedicated himself to creating spaces for survivors to connect and heal. He was the initiator and driving force behind the opening of the Nova exhibition in Israel and worldwide. Through these initiatives, Sasi continues to ensure that the legacy of the Nova Healing Concert, a vibrant celebration of music and freedom, endures despite the tragedy.
